Estate Sales

At Heirloom Harvesters, we understand that organizing an estate sale can be a complex and emotional process. Whether you’re downsizing, managing a loved one’s estate, or simply looking to sell valuable items, our team provides professional, compassionate service to ensure a successful sale. We offer estate sale services both with or without cleanout options, tailored to your specific needs.
The heirloom harvesters process

1. Initial Walkthrough
We begin with a complimentary in-home consultation to walk through the property, learn more about the contents of the home, and discuss your timeline and goals for the sale.
Every estate is different, so we take time to understand the situation and create a plan that fits the home and family’s needs.

2. Setting Aside Personal Items
Before we begin preparing for the sale, we ask that family members remove or clearly identify anything they would like to keep. This may include photographs, paperwork, sentimental items, jewelry, or family heirlooms.
Beyond that, there is no need to organize, sort, or clean out the home beforehand. We handle the preparation process from there.

3. Preparing the Home for the Sale
Once a sale date is scheduled, we typically begin working in the home two weeks before the sale. We sort through cabinets, closets, drawers, garages, storage areas, and living spaces to determine what should be sold, donated, discarded, or set aside.
We carefully organize and display items throughout the home to create a sale that feels inviting, easy to shop, and reflective of the pieces inside. Our team also researches and prices items based on current market demand, condition, quality, and comparable resale values.

For specialty or high-value items outside our direct scope, we may consult trusted outside specialists or appraisers when appropriate.

4. Marketing the Sale
Each sale is promoted through a combination of estate sale platforms, social media, email outreach, signage, and our established network of shoppers, collectors, decorators, and local buyers.
Our goal is to bring in the right audience for each individual sale and give the contents of the home the visibility they deserve.

5. Sale Days
Most estate sales run for two to three days. Throughout the sale, we assist shoppers, answer questions, manage checkout, monitor the home, and keep everything running smoothly.
We actively manage the sale from beginning to end so families can step away from the day-to-day logistics and know the process is being handled professionally.

6. After the Sale
Once the sale is complete, remaining items can be donated, removed, or left in the home depending on the agreed-upon plan.
Whenever possible, usable unsold items are donated to local families, nonprofits, or charitable organizations.

7. Optional Clean-Out Services
Some families only need help with the estate sale itself, while others prefer a fully cleared home afterward. We offer flexible clean-out services depending on the needs of the property.
When clean-out services are included, we leave the home emptied and ready for its next phase, whether that means listing, renovation, transition, or closing.

8. Fees and Costs
Our fee is based on a percentage of total sale proceeds after tax. Clean-out costs vary depending on the size and condition of the property, along with the volume of remaining contents.
Any additional expenses, such as hauling or dumpster services, are always discussed and approved in advance.
